CBB Group Recalls Various Toys Due to Choking Hazard and Lead Paint Standard Violation

The U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission has collaborated with CBB Group Inc based in City of Commerce, California, for voluntary recalling of various toys imported or distributed by the aforementioned company. These children specific consumer products have been identified as unsafe for use as they violate the levels of lead paint as designated by federal standards. They have also been identified as toys having a risk of choking. Consumers need to stop the use of these specific products, unless other instructions are given for the same.

The Recalled Products

The recalled products include a range of children’s products. Children are the most susceptible, when it comes to health hazards and great care must be taken when you choose toys for your children. Herein, the CBB Group Inc. has recalled Rattles, Mini Pull Back Cars, Battery- Operated Cartoon Bubble Guns, Battery-Operated Dolphin Bubble Guns, Pull-A-Long Cars, and Fishing Games. As can be seen, these are toys that have a great appeal for small kids.

Description of the Toys

There are specific models associated with each of these toys. When it comes to Fishing Games, the models with the codes Model KK-4296 UPC# 782468042968, Model T-8112 UPC#704291081129, Model PT-2006 UPC#830002020061, and Model KK-4461 UPC# 782468044610 have been recalled.

Two models with respect to the Battery-Operated Cartoon Bubble Gun namely Model KK-4275 UPC#782468042753 and Model KK-4276 UPC#782468042760. Model OR-2238 UPC# 868333022386 of the Battery Operated Dolphin Bubble Gun has also been recalled.

When it comes to 6- Piece Rattle Set and the 6-Piece 3” Pull Back Cars, one model each has been recalled; for the former, Model ET-1293 UPC# 800323012939; and for the latter, Model KK 4382 UPC# 78246804382. Two models of the Pull-A-Long Car have been recalled, including Model KK-4218 UPC#782468042180 and Model ET-1041 UPC# 800323010416. Last but not the least comes the 3-Piece Rattle Set, Model ET-1388 UPC#800323013882 has been recalled from the shelves.

The Hazards Associated with the Toys

The baby rattles pull-a-long cars, and fishing games are made up of detachable parts that if detached from the main body of the toy could lead to a choking hazard for the children. Moreover, the bubble guns, and mini pull back cars also violated the federally designated standards for lead paint. The surface paint of these toys contains excessive levels of lead.

There have been no reports, yet, of incidents or injuries as a result of the use of these toys.

Availability and Remedy

These toys are manufactured in China and imported and distributed by the CBB Group Inc. They have been available across nationwide toy stores, as well as, dollar stores from July 2007 through December 2008. The price range of these products is between $1 and $ 5. So, far around 39,000 units of the toys have been recalled by the company.

Consumers should not allow their young children to use these recalled products and return them to the place of purchase.
